The Western Maryland Dart Association is the largest organized steel-tip dart league in the Frederick, MD USA area. We have been running continuously for over 25 years. Our 400+ members participate in multiple divisions, on dozens of teams, sponsored by many of the Frederick area's bars and restaurants. Our primary goal is to provide a fun, challenging and rewarding darting experience for all our members. In WMDA, excellence and good sportsmanship are required. We stress individuality of each participant, and comaraderie among all WMDA members.

We have 3 seperate seasons. Fall, Spring, and Summer. These seasons play year-round so you can always get a team together no matter what time of the year it is.

Don't think you're good enough to play league darts? You don't have to be an expert! We have separate divisions for players of all skill levels, from beginners to experts. In the WMDA, everyone can play and anyone can win.

Think it might be too expensive? Steel tip darts is by far one of the most inexpensive leagues to play in. Pool, Bowling, even soft tip darts average anywhere from $15-25 a week to play, and that doesn't include other costs. Depending on how many players you have on a team at MOST our dues cost a player on average $2.50 a week per season. Yes---$2.50 a week!

WMDA Captains I still have not received team dues from 2 teams. If these dues are not paid by March 17th with interest those teams will be suspended from playing until the dues are paid.

DEADEYE - Mar 4, 2010 - Shawn Norman
Congrats to Mel Specht for hitting a deadeye 9 mark this week. The deadeye is the hardest shot to hit in cricket and is only considered a deadeye when all 3 double bulls are needed.

501 TOURN THIS SATURDAY - Mar 4, 2010 - Shawn Norman
At Krug's place. Doors open at 12, 1st event starts at 1. We will be doing a LOD, doubles, singles, then another LOD. If we have enough female participation, we will also have doubles and singles events for the gals as well. I would just like to extend a quick thanks to the board of directors Kenny and Melanie Divel, Janet Whitcomb, Amanda Hague, Shawn Norman, Dave Krug, and Laurie Wolfe for all their help in assisting with the banquet this past Saturday. Team Dues - Feb 19, 2010 - Andy Bowers
WMDA Captains as of noon today I have only received 18 of 36 team dues. 50% is not a good number. The annual divorce rate is higher than that. Any dues not received either by mail, paypal, or drop box by midnight on Wedesday will be charged a 5% late fee per week. Any dues not received by March 17th the team will be suspended from playing until dues are received. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you.

Banquet February 27th!!!!!! - Feb 15, 2010 - Andy Bowers
WMDA players tickets are now on sale for the banquet which will be Saturday February 27th. Doors open at 4:00 PM. We will be having at least 1 LOD after dinner with many door prizes to give out as well as a 50/50. Tickets will be $5 for members and $10 for non-members. For tickets please see me, a board member, use Paypal online (just click on the proper icon under the "Events" section), or you can purchase your tickets at the door that day. We only have 100 so get yours fast! I will be coming by to several bars this Wednesday since our team had to reschedule so bring your $$$ for your banquet tickets if you wish to get them right then!

Games posponed & Team Fees - Feb 9, 2010 - Andy Bowers
WMDA Captains due to the weather I am allowing posponement of all matches tomorrow if their teams cannot make it. If the captains wish to do so and play then they may but both captains have to agree, if not they have 4 weeks to make it up. When turning in your scoresheets please mark on there for the statistician what week the match is for. This will help him when he does the stats. Also most people turn in or drop off their team fees tonight or the next couple of days. Due to the weather I am pushing back the due date of the team fees to the 17th as well. Due to inclement weather we have decided to cancel the 501 tournament tomorrow. The safety of shooters is always first on our list. We are moving the tournament date to Saturday, March 6th at 1:00.
